Samsung Offers Discount for S8 to All Note 7 Owners

Customers are unhappy over the burning batteries and lack of compensation. Will Samsung offer a discount on the S8 for all Galaxy Note 7 users?

Many Galaxy Note 7 users have been reluctant to hand over their phone, burning battery issue or not. While it may seem a little funny, it’s easy to see why: there are no other Samsung phones that offer the exact same functionality.

Unfortunately, it could be awhile before we see something from Samsung that lines up to its Note 7 (minus the hazardous battery, of course). The latest rumor is that Note 7 users could snag the Galaxy S8 for free.

The Note 7 was a phenomenal phablet for many reasons. The innovative iris scanner added sci-fi fun with a nice dose of security. The size was ideal, users enjoyed the dual-lens camera, and the screen was wonderfully crisp and clear.

For those Note 7 owners mourning the loss of their phablet, it’s possible that Samsung may just help take the edge off with a zero cost Samsung Galaxy S8.

It’s no secret that Note 7 owners were displeased. It’s a hassle just to deal with the setup of a new phone, getting all of your favorite Android apps onto it, connecting social networks, and getting used to a different layout. Learning that your phone was personally dangerous — well — that was a lot for some previous Note 7 owners to take.

Samsung is suffering for it. Sales are down and people are mad. Dissatisfied customers cite a lack of compensation offers and are threatening to sue. Could this be Samsung’s effort to please the masses? It’s no surprise that Samsung might be thinking of offering alternative compensation. It could help placate their frustrated users and win them over again.

It might be some time before we learn whether or not Note 7 owners will get a free Galaxy S8. The new device won’t be released until February 2017. This time around, the battery may be supplied by another brand.
