The video-hosting website was launched just 11 years ago. Since then, it has become a global phenomenon! A huge portion of the world’s population—over a billion people—now uses its services. To celebrate both its birthday and its successes, let’s check out YouTube’s most liked videos
1. PSY – GANGNAM STYLE(강남스타일) M/V
With approximately 700,000 more likes than Wiz Khalifa’s second-place video, and nearly 2.6 billion views total, Psy’s addictively danceable Gangnam Style video remains an internationally recognizable smash hit. Say it with us, now: “Oppa Gangnam Style!”
2. Wiz Khalifa – See You Again ft. Charlie Puth [Official Video] Furious 7 Soundtrack
Likes: 10.1 million
With a more than respectable 1.7 billion views, Wiz Khalifa’s tribute to Paul Walker made it to the second most-liked video spot, despite being from a movie soundtrack. This powerful goodbye to a talented actor truly resonated with fans, making it one of the most loved YouTube videos of all time.
3. Adele – Hello
Of course, Adele’s stirring, lovelorn apology would have to make it to the top three, with 1.5 billion views! If you’re looking for a beautiful ballad to bring to karaoke, this is the one for you.
4. Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk ft. Bruno Mars
Likes: 6.2 million
Though it has 3.7 million less likes than Adele’s recent hit, “Uptown Funk,” which made a brief appearance in this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, has nearly 1.6 billion views, putting it up there with #2 and #3 on this top 5 list! If you haven’t heard this catchy tune just yet, be sure to check it out.
5. Justin Bieber – Sorry (PURPOSE : The Movement)
We’re definitely surprised it took till #5 for Justin Bieber to show up! But, that still means he has one of the top five most-liked YouTube videos of all time. With nearly 1.4 billion views, Bieber, who is arguably the world’s biggest male pop star right now, seems like he’s doing just fine, despite the apologies.
