Older Versions of PSafe Total Being Recalled, Update Today

Version 2.9 and earlier versions of the ’PSafe Total’ app are no longer supported.

Version 2.9 and earlier versions of the ‘PSafe Total’ app are no longer supported and must be upgraded or uninstalled immediately. This change will affect a small number of users that installed an old version between 2013 and 2015. The remaining 20 million users of PSafe apps will not be affected and will continue to receive updates and support without interruption.

PSafe provides world-class security and privacy to our users. Our antivirus offering has received 100% detection scores by the AV-TEST Institute, a third-party research institute that conducts comparative tests and reviews of antivirus software. Due to the quality of standards that we uphold in developing our products, having an older version of PSafe Total will leave you unprotected from evolving and more aggressive cyber threats.

Therefore, we encourage PSafe Total users with version 2.9 and any earlier versions installed to consider the following options:

A) Click here immediately to update the app on Google Play. Users that proceed with this update should note that the app has changed: its name is no longer ‘PSafe Total’, but is now called ‘dfndr security’. And the blue shield logo has been rebranded to a majestic purple shade.

B) Uninstall the outdated app and download another security and privacy application of your choice. As always, PSafe recommends that all smartphone users protect their personal data through trusted products available in the market.
