They approach their victims through emails with a malicious link, which directs them to a fake website posing as the official Netflix website. By clicking on this link, the victim is tricked into providing personal and credit card details for a supposed registration update. Those who provide this information hand over their sensitive data to scammers, making them likely victims of bank fraud &#8220;.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>How to protect yourself from this type of digital scam:<br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The experts at dfndr lab list some precautions that everyone should take to avoid falling into phishing scams (malicious links):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>1 &#8211;<\/strong> Use mobile security solutions that offer protection against digital threats. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/go.onelink.me\/U4Bc?pid=MKT_BLOG_US&amp;amp;c=netflix\">dfndr security<\/a><\/strong>, for example, sends security alerts in real-time to its users whenever they receive a malicious link or fake news, whether it\u2019s on Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, via SMS, or in the browser.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>2 &#8211;<\/strong> Always search and check to assure you\u2019re on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">official website<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for every company when you receive information through the Internet. Be wary of promotions, sensational news, discounts \u2014 and any administrative action that requires you to re-furnish personal \/ financial information.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>3 &#8211;<\/strong> Be careful when clicking on links shared through Facebook, TikTok, and other social networks. Also be especially wary of any unknown email contacts. Don\u2019t provide personal information to websites unless you\u2019re certain of their authenticity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>4 &#8211;<\/strong> When in doubt, it is possible to check if a link is fake on the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/:www.psafe.com\/dfndr-lab\/?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_content=netflix\">dfndr lab<\/a><\/strong> website.
