But an even more personalized way to unlock your phone is by using your <em>face<\/em>. That\u2019s right: Android has a face-unlocking feature. If you want the kind of protection this can provide \u2014 or you want to show your friends a cool party trick \u2014 facial unlocking might be right up your alley. Here\u2019s how to apply facial unlocking to your phone\u2019s start screen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Set up an Unlocking Method for Your Phone<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To set up an unlocking method, first go to Settings and scroll down until you find \u201cSecurity<em>.<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Click the \u201cSecurity\u201d button and then click \u201cScreen Lock.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Once there, choose either \u201cPattern,\u201d \u201cPIN,\u201d or \u201cPassword\u201d You can choose any one of these three password combinations to begin with \u201cTrusted Face.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.psafe.com\/en\/blog\/maintain-security-android-phone\/\" target=\"_blank\">Read More: How to Maintain Security on Your Android Phone<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Set up Trusted Face<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>After you\u2019ve set up an unlocking method, return to the \u201cSecurity\u201d settings screen and click \u201cSmart Lock\u201d again.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the PIN, password, or swipe pattern you\u2019ve just chosen.<\/li>\n<li>In the Smart Lock screen, click \u201cTrusted Face<em>.<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Trusted Face will give you several suggestions for how to set up your face profile. First, make sure you find an indoor spot that isn\u2019t too bright or too dark. Next, hold your phone at eye level.<\/li>\n<li>Click \u201cNext.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>A camera screen with a number of white dots in the shape of a face will appear. Fit your whole face within the face on the screen. If you do this successfully, the white dots will all turn yellow.<\/li>\n<li>The screen will then transfer you to a screen with the yellow-dotted face and a check mark.
