The Best Android Phones for Users on a Budget

A couple of years ago, if you wanted to get one of the best phones available, you had to drop over $500 and commit to a two-year plan. But now, the Android market has changed, and you can afford a phone that does everything you want it to on a limited budget. Here, we’ll talk about three of our favorite Androids that you can take home for less than $300.

Moto G5

The consensus heard ‘round the web is that Motorola’s Moto G5 Plus is one of the best low-cost phones around. The phone performs well in all counts, with its long battery life and 5.2-inch HD display. The phone’s camera is also effective — it can even take quality photos in low light. Bottom line: even if you weren’t on a budget, the Moto G5 Plus would still be in the running as your phone of choice. But right now, you can buy this phone for only $229.99.

BLU R1 HD

If you want an affordable phone that still performs well, the BLU R1 HD — available only through Amazon — is the ticket. Starting at only $99.99, the phone has 8 GB of storage and 1 GB of RAM — a lot of storage space for a phone at this price point. Users rate the phone’s design and battery life particularly highly, too, and generally approve of the phone’s camera and overall performance.

ZTE Blade V8 Pro

Even though the V8 Pro might not be as sleek as some of its more expensive competitors, it makes up for its parts with its performance. Its display looks good and works well, and the phone itself performs well. Plus, the phone has dual cameras, meaning that you can take photos that look like they were taken on a more expensive device. The V8 Pro is available for one cent less than the Moto G5, at $229.98.

The budget cameras of 2017 are much better designed and more functional than those of previous years. Now that you can find a new Android for an affordable price, will you be on the hunt for a new phone? Let us know your favorite budget devices — and why you like them so much — in the comments.
