Samsung Galaxy S8: What You Need to Know

Korean company Samsung didn’t just have an epic fail with their Galaxy Note 7 phone; they had a publicity disaster. In addition to the Note 7 and its fire-catching battery, Samsung also had a washing machine that exploded while in use. Samsung’s problems remind us that the next evolution in design could be a success or fail.

Luckily reviewers and users of the new Samsung Galaxy S8 are pleased with the iteration of the Galaxy, so Samsung’s former setbacks are no reason not to give it a chance.

Design

The new Samsung Galaxy S8 has a sleek design that is both slimmer and longer than most smartphones. The front of the phone is made entirely of glass — there is no longer any “home” panel, and the fingerprint reader has been moved to the back of the phone. Other popular features are its ultra-wide display, its high-level screen revolution, and its display’s high color contrast. Plus, the phone is amazingly durable.

Operating System

The S8 Galaxy runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. If you’re not familiar with the new operating system, it offers several useful features, including the functionality of running two apps at one time. The S8 also runs Edge software, which lets users shortcut links to contacts and apps.

Special Features

A popular feature of the S8 Samsung is its new and improved megapixel camera. The camera is designed to help you take pictures in low light, zoom in and out with better results, and make sure your photos don’t blur.

If you’re worried about your phone’s security (which, of course, you should be), the new Samsung Galaxy S8 has a new biometric ID: you can enable iris scanning or facial recognition so you’re the only one able to unlock your phone.

Even though Samsung’s reputation has been tarnished in the last few years, the new Samsung Galaxy phone should help them rebuild users’ trust. With cool new features, a sleek design, and an improved functionality, the new Samsung Galaxy S8 is certainly worth a test drive.
