Soon You’ll Be Able To Stream Live TV on YouTube

If you don’t have cable TV, and are tired of missing out on events or shows that you can’t live-stream or access online, then worry no more. YouTube will soon be launching YouTube TV, which will allow you to pay $35 per month to access select basic cable and cable networks. With YouTube TV, you can have six accounts per household. If you decide that the service is not for you, you can cancel at any time — no long-term contract is required to access the service.

Currently, you can sign up on YouTube’s website to be notified on when YouTube TV will be available in your location. You’ll also receive a list of which networks will be available through the service in your area. Some of the networks may include CBS, ABC, NBC, and FOX, among many others. The service is expected to launch in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia first. It is unknown when and where else the service will be offered.

YouTube TV is Finally Here

YouTube TV has been in development for years, as Google worked on contracts with various networks. Although networks may have been previously hesitant to offer their services online, it will certainly be a successful move as TV moves online more and more. YouTube should have a lot of success with their new live TV package, if recent trends are any indication. Fewer people own TVs now or cable packages, instead preferring to access their TV content through streaming services like Netflix, HBO, Hulu, and Amazon online.

Although a comprehensive list of the networks involved with YouTube TV is unknown, there have been many leaks on the subject. In addition to the networks mentioned above, many Disney-owned networks are expected to be involved, in addition to ESPN, the CW, USA, FX, FXX, Sprout, E!, SyFy, NatGeo, Freeform, MSNBC, Bravo, and CNBC, among others. You will also be able to access Showtime content for an additional fee. A wide variety of sports channels are also included, such as several ESPN channels, FS1, FS2, and the Golf channel, among others. You can get the Fox Soccer Plus channel for an additional fee, as well.

YouTube TV will include the original TV shows from YouTube Red. YouTube TV will also offer unlimited, cloud-based DVR space and simultaneous recordings. Further, you’ll be able to access the service on multiple devices. The service will offer you recommendations based on your viewing activity and interests, too.
