What is Prisma for Android?

Prisma is a camera app from Russian developer Prisma Labs, Inc. While it does use filters, they don’t resemble anything you find on photo-sharing giant, Instagram. Instead, the app is a blend of modern art meets photo filters. With more than thirty filters to choose from, it will keep any photo sharing fan snap happy.

Do note that, with the default settings, there is no way to save your work to your smartphone after you add filters. Before you dig into the Prisma app, click on the “Settings” icon to fix this problem. Under this menu, you can toggle the switch in order to save your original photos, save your artwork automatically, and add a watermark. Then, head back to the main screen.

Snap a photo or choose one from your image gallery. Crop or rotate the image. Next, choose from among a slew of different filters, select the blending level you prefer by dragging your finger across the screen, and finally release it into the wild.

Filters include paper art, electric, candy, transverse line, mosaic, and many more. They mimic the styles of famous artists like Van Gogh and Picasso. Breaking Bad fans will enjoy the reference to the hit show with a filter just for them.

With the touch of a button, you can easily connect your Instagram account, save and share your Prisma filtered image via text message or email, and save it to your Google Drive, your Keep folder, or your other social networks that are already installed on your Android smartphone.

The makers of the app are talking of removing the less popular filters, leaving behind only the best of the best. So try not to get too attached to a particular filter just yet!
