Starbucks lines are getting longer, but your wait doesn't have to be. Use your Android device to cut the line and get your coffee before the angry AM army.
There have been rumors floating around that Starbucks has cut its hours for baristas, and the wait times for coffee have increased. Nevertheless, there’s an easier way to order your coffee and have it ready when you arrive, with the Starbucks® App for Android.
First, download the app.
Starbucks® App for Android is free, and is available for Android 4.1 and up. The app works at over 7,000 Starbucks locations nationwide, including ones in Safeway and Target. There are international apps as well, with several hundred locations in Canada and the UK, as well as separate apps for various countries.

Pick a location and order.
It’s time to place your order! Select a location for your beverage to be made and create your drink of choice. You can select an available option and customize it according to your preference, or make your own. This applies to food and pastries as well. It will be ready when you get there.
Pay for said order.
Starbucks® for Android lets you pay before you even enter the store. Simply enter your card information and make your purchase beforehand. Starbucks Gold Card members can redeem points and rewards for their purchases on this app, and you can load gift cards onto the app as well. If paying before isn’t an option, Starbucks will let you scan an app’s barcode at the counter upon arrival, or pay your usual way.
Time to go in and pick up your drink!
Your order will be waiting for you in the designated waiting area. Tell your barista you’re there for your mobile order and enjoy! As an added bonus, the app will give you a playlist of the music at that Starbucks location, should there be any wait.
