<![CDATA[Your Guide to Instagram’s New Gallery Feature]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/guide-instagrams-new-gallery-feature/ Thu, 30 Mar 2017 18:00:00 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=9329 Instagram has released another great new photo feature. Consider this your step-by-step guide to Instagram’s new gallery feature.

O post Your Guide to Instagram’s New Gallery Feature apareceu primeiro em PSafe Blog.

]]>
You may keep a variety of photos on your phone, from photos that you share on social networks like Instagram, to personal photos that you would prefer not to share with many people, or anyone at all. Sometimes, you wish some of the photos on your device were more private. Maybe you want to show photos to a friend or family member without having to worry about them spotting a personal photo.

Luckily, dfndr vault will help you to keep your private photos for your eyes only. Encrypt your photos, back them up on a cloud storage of your choice, and use the dfndr vault key to ‘unlock’ them and view them whenever you want. Click here to hide your private photos in a hidden gallery:

For those photos that you want to share on Instagram, you now have a new way of sharing them, by creating “galleries.” You can share up to ten photos and videos in a post. This new feature is similar to the Instagram Stories feature in that it allows you to group a select number of photos together in one post. Unlike Instagram Stories, your gallery photos won’t disappear after a select amount of time.

How to Create an Instagram Gallery

 1. Open the Instagram app. Next, click the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen, as you normally would whenever you want to add a new photo to Instagram.
 2. Locate the image that you want to add to the gallery. Click on the image and then select the “multiple photos” option on the screen.
 3. Pick which photos you want to be a part of the gallery. Click on the images that you want to add to the gallery. If you want to remove a photo, you can simply click an image again to remove it from your gallery. If you want to change the order of the photos, you can long-press a photo and drag it to where you want it in the gallery.
 4. After you have chosen your photos, and the order in which you want them to be displayed, you can edit the photos individually or as a whole by choosing a single filter for all of the photos.
 5. Then, create your caption. You can only create one caption for all of the photos; you can’t have a caption for each photo.
 6. Now, share your gallery. To show that you have posted a gallery, a series of dots will be displayed under the first photo to indicate that there is a series of photos for your friends to look at.

<![CDATA[Why Clickbait Works and How You Can Avoid It]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/clickbait-works-can-avoid/ Wed, 05 Oct 2016 22:47:20 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=4427 Consider this your guide to clickbait. Learn what it means, why it works, and why overuse of the term can be more harmful than clickbait itself.

O post Why Clickbait Works and How You Can Avoid It apareceu primeiro em PSafe Blog.

]]>
We often associate the word “clickbait” with frustration. The word brings to mind false promises and wasted time. But all articles are not created equally, nor are all of them clickbait. Learn about what clickbait actually is, and why it works.

What is Clickbait?
The term “clickbait” can be defined as content that has an intriguing headline, but once you click on the link, the actual content lacks value and quality. However, in popular usage the term is often used to refer to personal dislike for an article, or to any headline that tempts you to read more.

Why Clickbait Works
There are some universal signs of clickbait. Some examples would be exaggerated headlines such as “You’ll never believe this…” or “This story will change your life!” They promise something so incredible and unique that we can’t help but “click” on the link. But if clickbait frustrates us, then why does it keep reeling us in? Because we’re curious. It makes us feel as if we’ll be rewarded by clicking on the link. But once we do, the article is often disappointing. It doesn’t live up to its promise; we feel as if we’ve been tricked.

Another reason clickbait works is that it promises a quick, emotional escape in a world of hard news stories and investigative journalism. It’s a form of instant gratification. It works because after a long day at work, our brains are tired. Clickbait is designed to be easy to consume.

This tactic — of enticing readers to read an article by using an intriguing headline — of course isn’t new. It has been used in advertisements since the 19th century. In the case of clickbait, however, this tactic is used to an extreme. It happens when a company cares more about advertising revenue and site traffic than the quality of the content. Ultimately, this isn’t a strategy for the long run. It can lead to loss of potential subscribers or customers if they are continuously dissatisfied with their experience.

The Real Issue with Clickbait
While some content can be unanimously considered to be of poor quality, the issue with “clickbait” is that the term is overused, and has adopted a broad and subjective meaning. One person might deem a certain article to be invaluable, but another might find it to be a waste of time. But if the actual content is of a certain standard of quality, even if not every person finds that content valuable, then technically it isn’t clickbait. This is true even if the headline mimics traditional tactics of clickbait. If we avoid overusing the term “clickbait,” then we can more easily recognize actual clickbait and avoid it, if desired.

We’ve been smitten with emojis ever since they were first introduced in Japan more than a decade ago. Now we can’t get enough. We wonder when more will be added to our keyboards so that we can finally have that perfect emoji to express our feelings. Luckily, Android 7.0 (“Nougat”) has released a new set of fully modified emojis that more closely resemble the people, places, and things that they’re mimicking.

Nonetheless, you can now add even more emoji options to your text messages and messaging apps. But before you start downloading new emoji apps to add to your keyboard, you should make sure that your default keyboard on your device includes or supports emojis. If you use Google keyboard, then you’re already set. You can also download additional keyboards from the Play store, like Swype or Swiftkey to have access to a different set of emojis. If you want to add even more emoji options to your phone, then you can download a variety of apps as well from the Play store.

Emojidom by PlantPurple B.V. is a free app with more than 4,000 emojis. You can use the emoticons on a variety of chat apps, in addition to MMS and email. The images stay the same across devices, meaning no more confusion when you send an incorrectly translated emoji to your iPhone friend. New emoticons are added monthly, and you can add more to your collection by earning coins—no purchase necessary!

Lastly, you can download the Kika Emoji Keyboard Pro by Kika Keyboard Tech, which is also free to download. This app includes more than 1,200 emojis, stickers, and GIFs that are usable across a variety of applications, in addition to MMS. You also can customize the theme of your keyboard, choose from a variety of fonts and sounds, and use swipe-style texting. While this app has fewer options that Emojidom, the emoticons and images in this app more closely resemble emojis than Emojidom, which tends to be more sticker-like.

Keep your computer clean inside and out with these simple tips.

You may have the best of intentions when it comes to caring for your computer. You don’t eat over it (too often). You don’t drink over it (that much). But you know you haven’t been caring for it like you should. Get it clean and ready for action in no time with these tips.

Clean your computer keyboard

It’s grimy, it’s gritty. Your computer keyboard needs a cleaning. Making your computer keyboard look and feel like new again is easy. To begin, turn off your laptop. Then, using baby wipes or similar products, rub gently over the keys. Do the same for your mouse. Disconnect the mouse, then gently rub the cleaning cloth all over it. Now, grab a can of compressed air, and spray away between the keys to remove the dust, pet hair, and occasional potato chip that likes to settle between them.

Clean your computer screen

Turn off your laptop so you can better see the great, big dirty splotches. For an LCD, you want to be especially careful that you don’t press too hard, and damage your screen. If you do, you’ll burn out the pixels. Using a dry microfiber cloth, not a paper towel or tissue to avoid scratching your screen, gently rub across your computer screen to clean off all the gunk. If you must, you may ever so slightly dampen the cloth, in order to remove stubborn dirty spots. Distilled water is the best choice and will keep from leaving spots behind.

Clean up your computer on the inside

Now that your computer is tied up on the outside, it’s time to clean it up on the inside. PSafe Total Windows is the perfect way to begin. Install PSafe TOTAL Windows. To begin, run a virus scan, and see if there are any hidden dangers lurking within your system. After the scan is complete, deal with any issues accordingly. Then, take a look at the suggestions offered within the software to help your computer run faster and smoother than ever. It will also identify temporary and unnecessary files, so you can delete those as well. Freeing up space will also help your laptop’s performance.

Keep it Clean

Now that your laptop is up to speed, keep it that way. Take the time to occasionally wipe down the mouse and keyboards, especially after family members have been ill, and wipe off the screen.

Be sure to consistently run PSafe Total Windows to ensure a fast-working, zippy computer that’s free from resource hogging viruses and malware. Follow the software’s suggestions for a computer that won’t let you down.

Dropbox is known as a great tool for professional freelancers. But freelancers aren’t the only group who can benefit from a Dropbox backup. The DropSpace app for Android is a useful way to backup all of your phone’s files – including your music, photos, and contacts, for example – to your Dropbox. Here’s how to use DropSpace to protect files stored on your phone.

Read More: Great Android Tools for Professional Freelancers

Using DropSpace:

 1. First create a Dropbox account. In Dropbox, create a new folder where you can store all of your phone’s backed-up content.
 2. Download the free DropSpace app.
 3. Open DropSpace and log into using your Dropbox account credentials.
 4. In the app’s main menu, there will be an icon that says “Add directories” and then “files to sync list.” In the “files to sync list,” add the folders you want Dropbox to back up.
 5. Choose the Dropbox folder you made before to store this content. This will be the folder where all of your phone’s backed-up material is stored.
 6. Make sure you’ve also clicked the “Sync back files if server has new one” button on DropSpace so the app will continue to sync if you change a file on your computer.
 7. You want DropSpace to regularly backup your files and folders. To make sure that your content is regularly synced, navigate back to the app’s main menu. Here, click on “Run as service.” From there, you can click how often you want you content backed up to Dropbox. You can choose anywhere from every hour to every 168 hours.
 8. You also want to only have your phone and computer sync when your phone is connected to Wi-Fi so you don’t wear out your phone’s battery too quickly. To do this, navigate back to main menu and click the button next to the “Sync only wifi” icon.
 9. You can also sync your content on DropSpace manually by navigating back to the main menu and clicking the “Sync Now” button.

If you want DropSpace to back up your phone’s files, make sure you aren’t wasting space by transferring unnecessary files. Instead of transferring junk, download PSafe Total. PSafe’s Junk Cleanup and Quick Cleanup features get rid of junk files, temporary files, background apps, and cache files, which, in turn, frees up your memory and SD card.

<![CDATA[How To Connect a USB Flash Drive to Your Android Phone]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/connect-usb-flash-drive-android-phone/ Tue, 23 Aug 2016 14:29:22 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=3087 Some files are too important to leave on your laptop. Transferring them to your mobile device is easy and fast, and the accessories to do so are affordable.

O post How To Connect a USB Flash Drive to Your Android Phone apareceu primeiro em PSafe Blog.

]]>
It used to be that, when storing files on your phone or computer, you were restricted to keeping them in a single device. Moving locations of your files does not have to be limited to sending them over the Internet. Instead, exercise external resources to protect your data and ensure a successful switch.

Materials Needed to Transfer Files

The materials you will need are: a flash drive, a USB OTG (on-the-go) cable, and a MicroUSB adapter cable. This will allow one end to plug into your phone and the other to hook up to a larger USB port. All of these accessories are available on Amazon. You should have also downloaded Stickmount, a service that allows for immediate “mounting” of USB ports, on your device.

This is usually the standard for Android connections; while all of these items work, there are other advanced connection systems worth researching. Note that not all Stickmount software is compatible with Nexus platforms, so be sure to download the compatible app when making transfers. It is available in several variations for specific devices on Google Play.

How to Connect the Accessories

Plug the OTG cable in first. Next, attach the flash drive to the other end. Stickmount will appear; touch OK to launch it, and the files you wish to transfer will appear on your screen. With the USB cable and these services, you can upload photos, videos, and even ringtones to your smartphone with ease. Remember to make this process a default action, so Android will do it automatically every time.

Your Files and PSafe

Ensure that your valuable information is kept private with PSafe. When your work has successfully been transferred onto your mobile device, protect it with components of PSafe Total’s security software. Since you’ve just added more data to your device, a Memory Booster will help organize your content and dispose of unwanted files and optimize your storage space.

If there’s too much information for your device to process, the Junk Cleanup feature will sort through existing apps and files and give you the option of deleting preexisting phone components, giving you more room for your files. The PSafe Applock allows users to utilize a second password that is needed to unlock apps and information, even when the phone is unlocked. To further ensure your privacy, the anti-theft feature keeps track of your data at all times.

<![CDATA[Your Guide to Sending a Delayed Text Message on Android]]> https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/guide-sending-delayed-text-message-android/ Wed, 10 Aug 2016 22:35:02 +0000 https://www.psafe.com/en/blog/?p=2823 Sometimes, you know you shouldn’t send a text the instant you think of it. Here is how to set a delay on that text so it sends when the timing is appropriate.

O post Your Guide to Sending a Delayed Text Message on Android apareceu primeiro em PSafe Blog.

]]>
Technology often provides us with instant access to complete tasks with ease at the touch of our fingertips. But what if it’s not instant access you need, but instead, delayed access? Say you’re at work and you remember that your husband is supposed to pick up the dry cleaning on his way home. You want to let him know now before you forget again, but he’s in a big meeting so calling him or sending a text right now just isn’t feasible.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could cue up that important text to ensure that it will be sent to him promptly at 1:15PM, when you know he’ll be out of his meeting and on his way to lunch? As it turns out, that’s not that lofty of a dream; in fact, many Android phones already possess the capability of this action. The trick is knowing how to do it. We’re here to teach you exactly that.

A few devices that run on Android actually already have built-in capabilities for sending SMS messages at a later date or time. For example, most Samsung phones — like the Samsung Galaxy S5 — have this feature. When you open up the “Messages” app on your phone, start a new message and type in your contact’s name or number and the message you wish to send to them.

You’ll notice that at the top of the message screen, there are three vertical dots. Tap on them to bring up a menu of options. In that menu, select “Schedule Message.” From here, you can type in the time and date that you wish to send this message on. Now, where the “Send” button usually is, you’ll instead see an image of a clock. This means that your message is ready to be scheduled to send at your chosen date and time. If you press and hold on to the message, you’ll also have options to send now, edit it, or cancel it, too.

Read More: How to Block Unwanted Text Messages on Android

Pretty simple, right? Well, not if your Android smartphone doesn’t have the option for this handy trick. If that’s the case, then fear not; there’s an app (well, many apps) for that! A few of the most popular and well-received apps for scheduling SMS messages include:

 • Text Later. This free app sends SMS messages at any time or date you choose. It also features a “wake lock” option that ensures that all scheduled messages are sent, even if your device is in a CPU idle sleep state.
 • Schedule SMS: Send it Later. This is yet another free app that schedules SMS messages, with a clean and user-friendly interface. All scheduled messages are saved in any easy-to-find place.
 • SMS Scheduler. Like the others listed, this free app lets you schedule text messages in advance. It also allows you the opportunity to choose the frequency of sending messages — be it every five minutes or every hour.
